A week before the celebration of the Dinagyang festival, here in Iloilo City, Cebu City will also celebrate its annual and most popular festival, the "Sinulog Festival". Like the Dinagyang celebration, the Sinulog Festival also honors the Child Jesus or the Santo Niño which is teh City's patron Saint. It traditionally last for nine days in which on the final day, it is culminated with a grand parade in a dance ritual with colorful costumes in the rythm of teh drums to commemorate the transition from pagan beliefs of our ancestors to the birth of Christianity.
